Gujarat solar subsidy calculator: use the free tool below to find out exactly how much subsidy you get on a rooftop solar system under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and Gujarat’s new additional State subsidy. Enter your system size in kWp, choose your category, and the calculator shows your Central subsidy, State subsidy and the amount you need to pay.
PM Surya Ghar (Central) + Gujarat Additional State Subsidy for residential rooftop solar up to 2.18 kWp (DC), as per Gujarat Government Resolution dated 22.10.2026.
Change rates (benchmark cost and Central subsidy)
The GR sets the benchmark at ₹50,000/kW (first 2 kW) and ₹45,000/kW (above 2 kW). Central subsidy rates are not given in the GR; please confirm them on the PM Surya Ghar portal.
- State subsidy = Benchmark cost − Central subsidy − Consumer contribution (10% General, 5% SC/ST).
- Subsidy is calculated on the benchmark cost, not on the vendor’s actual bill. Any amount above the benchmark is paid by the consumer.
- The State subsidy is paid by the DISCOM directly to the beneficiary’s bank account (DBT).
- After availing this subsidy, no additional rooftop solar capacity can be added for 3 years.
- If solar is already installed (X kWp), the new system (Y kWp) is eligible only while X + Y does not exceed 2.18 kWp.
- This is only an estimate. Please confirm the final amount with your DISCOM, GEDA or the PM Surya Ghar portal.
How the Gujarat Solar Subsidy Calculator Works
This calculator follows the Gujarat Government Resolution dated 22 October 2026. The State subsidy is the benchmark cost minus the Central subsidy (CFA) minus your own contribution. Your contribution is only 10% of the benchmark cost for General consumers and just 5% for SC/ST consumers.
The benchmark cost is ₹50,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹45,000 for every additional kW. The Central subsidy under PM Surya Ghar is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the third kW.

- The installed DC capacity is up to 2.18 kWp.
- The system is commissioned on or after 22 October 2026.
- If you already have solar (X kWp), the new system (Y kWp) must keep X + Y within 2.18 kWp.

The subsidy is paid through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) by your DISCOM: DGVCL, MGVCL, PGVCL, UGVCL or Torrent Power.
